Packaging & Deployment Engineer (SC Cleared) *candidates must have an active SC clearance to start* Start: ASAP Duration: 6-12 months Location: hybrid, Gloucester Pay: inside IR35, up to £350 p/day We are seeking a skilled Application Packaging & Deployment Engineer to join on a contract basis. This role focuses on packaging, testing, and deploying applications using SCCM and Intune, ensuring standardised, secure, and compliant software delivery across the enterprise. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, supporting pre-production and production environments, incident resolution, and platform maintenance. Key Responsibilities - Package applications using AdminStudio, InstallShield, PowerShell, and other tools - Deploy and troubleshoot applications via SCCM and Intune - Migrate legacy applications to MSIX or Intune-based deployment - Maintain deployment infrastructure, naming conventions, and package standards - Resolve 2nd/3rd line incidents, including on-call and out-of-hours support (as per rota) - Participate in change management, governance, and CAB processes - Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders for smooth rollouts - Create technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing - Travel within the UK may be required to client or partner sites Required Skills - Proven experience in application packaging (MSI, App-V, MSIX, Intune) - Strong knowledge of SCCM (Current Branch), Intune, Autopilot, and Conditional Access - Expertise in PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch scripting - Solid understanding of Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Group Policy - Good hardware knowledge and desktop troubleshooting skills - Strong communication and documentation abilities - Flexible to work across multiple shifts and provide on-call support Desirable Skills - Microsoft certifications (e.g. MD-102, MCSA) - ITIL Foundation certification - Experience in large-scale or regulated environments - Exposure to Agile/DevOps methodologies - Knowledge of cloud-based solution delivery in enterprise settings |
