Data Engineer - Freelance (100% Remote)
Our client, a leading Italian services organistaion, are seeking a Data Engineer on a freelance contract basis.
This will be a long term, remote contract for 2 years. YOU MUST speak Italian to be considered for this role.
You will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of end-to-end data pipelines for Big Data analysis. Working closely with other data scientists, engineers and analysts, you will acquire, transform, analyse, and visualise data at scale.

You will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of end-to-end data pipelines for Big Data analysis. Working closely with other data scientists, engineers and analysts, you will acquire, transform, analyse, and visualise data at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement complex data pipelines using Apache Spark, Hadoop, and other Big Data tools.
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to load data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes
- Optimise the performance of data pipelines and data storage systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their needs and develop advanced data analytics solutions
- Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards for data visualisation.
- Ensure the quality, security, and integrity of data
Key Skills:
- 2+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer.
- Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and managing data warehouses and data lakes on the cloud (MUST HAVE)
- Strong experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, and other Big Data tools.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Ability to design and develop complex end-to-end data pipelines.
- Ability to optimize the performance of data pipelines and data storage systems
- You must speak Italian for to be considered for this role
