Backup & Storage Engineer – Luxembourg (On-Site)

Start: Within a month
Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
Daily Rate: €410/day
Location: Luxembourg  (with on-call and shift work)
EU Citizenship required


The Opportunity

We’re supporting a key customer in Luxembourg in the search for an experienced Backup & Storage Engineer. This is a hands-on operational role within a large enterprise environment, working across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud systems. You’ll be responsible for implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of robust backup and storage infrastructures, enabling resilience and disaster recovery.


Your Role

You’ll be the main operational point for backup and storage services, responsible for:

  • Provisioning, configuring, and maintaining enterprise backup and storage systems

  • Supporting project transitions into operations

  • Monitoring infrastructure, resolving incidents (via ServiceNow), and conducting root cause analysis

  • Managing hardware lifecycle: setup, migration, decommissioning, disk shredding

  • Maintaining system policies and documentation (including CMDB)

  • Collaborating with providers on patches, updates, and preventive maintenance

  • Performing vulnerability risk assessments and reporting

  • Zoning, port configuration and standard-based SAN deployments


Your Profile

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Backup & Storage roles in large environments
  • Strong understanding of Commvault, HYCU, SAN (Brocade), and Hitachi storage
  • Fluent in English (B2 minimum); 
  • EU Citizenship required 
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Able to work independently and handle dynamic environments
  • Open to on-call and shift-based work

Nice to Have

  • Experience in enterprise IT operations

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and CMDB practices

  • Exposure to ticketing systems like ServiceNow
