Our Client, a world renowned Ecommerce Consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled and personable Account Director to join a growing Client Services team as they expand the business.

This company is under some massive organic growth at the moment, nearly getting more project requests than they can handle. They've set themselves apart as a tier-1 agency in the Ecommerce space, managing projects across the full lifecycle of commerce with major consumer brands across the globe.

This person will be responsible for the overall strategy, sales, relationship management, and delivery activities related to their assigned accounts. It's a very key hire for them as they develop this Client Services department, needing someone with an entrepreneurial mind and acumen for leadership in the role. They will report directly to the Managing Director of the portfolio assigned.

  • Sales & Marketing
  • Support and provide input on prospecting leads related to service offering focus
  • Lead and coordinate pitches on existing accounts
  • Achieve organic growth goals within existing portfolio
  • Drive Case Studies post delivery to enhance further sales
  • Write proposals for qualified opportunities identified by the sales team.
  • Work with Project Management to lead definition of approach, scope and budget for all opportunities
  • Lead scope, schedule and budget negotiations and issue resolutions with clients
  • With assigned Project Manager, deliver project management capabilities to clients, including: project plans, weekly budget reports, weekly status report, regular status meetings
  • With assigned Project Manager, provide project management capabilities to internal resources, including: project expectations and roles, utilization goals, and staffing
  • Navigate the client’s organization to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Partner with Executive Sponsor to decide which new business to pursue/accept or turn down, based on appropriateness and “fit to business” with account strategy
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to establish overall team structure; work with team leads to ensure team is staffed appropriately
  • Ensure that scopes of work are aligned with account strategy as well as client needs
  • Ensure that scopes of work are specific and accurate; actively participate in development of scope descriptions and project plans for complex/strategic initiatives to develop SOWs
  • Participate in all key client presentations; ensure that the team is prepared with rationale to effectively “sell” the solution; consult clients on the decisions in front of them as needed
Skills and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 6-8 years of relevant account management experience in a consulting or interactive agency, focusing on project oversight/management for digital business solutions (e-Commerce, brand building, online marketing).
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong client management skills - demonstrated success selling and delivering digital business solutions to enterprise level brands
  • Strong financial management skills - experience planning, creating, tracking and managing client financials in a service environment
  • Strong project and team leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel / work on-site at client locations (most clients are local) - 50% of time
  • Experience across strategic, project-based and production based projects
