Job description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join their team in a hybrid/flexible work arrangement. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one of three areas: data/database, systems, or product.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop the data platform, focusing on data engineering and database management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale services and ensure seamless integration.
- Develop and maintain complex systems using Java, C++, Rust, and other relevant technologies.
- Embed on product teams to ship features and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work with Tier 1 tech companies and database companies to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience working at Tier 1 tech companies or directly at a database company or data product arm.
- Expertise in data engineering and database management using technologies such as Iceberg, DuckDB, Trino, Flink.
- Strong understanding of systems and scalability, with experience in Java, C++, Rust, and other relevant technologies.
- Ability to work on platform engineering and ensure seamless integration of services.
- Experience working on payments platforms, consumer products, or other product-centric tech companies.
What the Client Offers
The client offers a salary of $220,000 per year, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid/flexible arrangement. This role is available as a permanent position, with the option to work from home or in-office.
