Senior Designer
The Senior Designer at a Shopify Plus Agency works under the direct supervision our Chief Creative Officer to produce creative collateral for high-end fashion and luxury clients, applying expertise in interactive design, visual design, and prototyping to deliver cohesive, user-centric experiences to our clients. They are high-functioning creatives that are able to manage and oversee their projects, contribute originality and expertise to agencies digital products, and keep the project cohesively on track. They will be responsible for managing the creative elements of our client relationships and follow best practices within process, communication, utilization and be familiar with the full spectrum of our digital offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Distill complex requirements into features that are incredibly simple and elegant
- Deliver designs rapidly while maintaining a meticulous eye for detail and consistency
- Manage the full lifecycle of product design from sketches and wireframes to visual design and functional prototypes
- Participate in design testing to ensure compatibility
- QA staged content and tweak as necessary following style guides
- Assist with basic, styling-related HTML
- Make design decisions based on good judgement, experience, research, and data
- Overseeing project design all the way through execution
- Concepting Designs, Ideation, and running a group critique
- Engaging with new clients and presenting to existing clients
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 5+ years designing for multiple platforms experience (minimally, Shopify, WordPress and Magento), with 3+ years as a senior visual and interaction designer or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent grasp of the design thinking and prototyping process, including product/interaction/visual, with the know-how to move from pencil on paper to layout to pixel-perfect handoff using tools such as Sketch, Invision, and Zeplin
- A strong product design portfolio that demonstrates how you design to solve customer needs – bringing best in class ecommerce together with visual excellence
- Deep understanding of industry basic design principles and a passion for emerging web technologies
- Expert communication and presentation skills with ability to clearly present your work and articulate / advocate design rationale
