Assignment Overview
We are looking for a freelance DevSecOps Developer to join a central software and security engineering team supporting large-scale R&D; activities within an advanced engineering environment.The organisation is undergoing a major digital transformation, evolving towards a software-driven product ecosystem. The focus is on building secure, robust, and continuously improving platforms, with emphasis on embedded systems, automation, and safety-critical software.
Context
The assignment sits within a central software factory function supporting multiple R&D; teams. The objective is to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable software and electronics platform by defining standards, tooling, and processes across development, integration, testing, and release.Assignment Scope
The consultant will join a dedicated DevSecOps team, working closely with senior engineers to ensure software is developed, integrated, and released securely.Responsibilities include:
- Software security signing solutions
- SBOM generation and management
- Leading software signing ceremonies (on-site)
- Threat modelling sessions
- Secure Development Lifecycle enablement
- Driving future security features
- Educating development teams on secure practices
Requirements
- MSc in Engineering (Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, or Software)
- 2+ years experience in automotive or embedded environments
- 5+ years experience in security-related development
- Experience with software signing procedures
- Strong skills in Bash/Shell, Python, C/C++
- Strong communication skills- Fluent English
