Research Engineering | New York | In Office
Our client aims to create high-quality graph frameworks and user-friendly orchestration platforms to deliver grid compute for research and production at scale. They have built their graph framework on both common Python packages and proprietary frameworks to support large-scale research. Their tooling must support everything from minute ticking alphas to distributed computation on 20k+ cores, striving to do so in one consolidated framework.
The ideal candidate has experience building quantitative graph frameworks and working directly with research users. They are looking for an experienced research engineer who can partner with quant research users, bring their own insight, and drive their graph framework forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Design cohesive and high-quality graph components to meet a broad range of research and production needs, fed by constant user feedback.
- Work directly with Quantitative Researchers to understand their workflows and enable them to be as productive as possible.
- Collaborate with broader cloud teams to innovate and drive the architecture forward.
- Drive towards cloud-native technologies and patterns throughout the framework.
Requirements
- BS and/or MS in a relevant and highly technical field (computer science, engineering, math, physics, etc.).
- 6+ years of software development experience, with strong experience in building high-quality software in Python.
- Proficiency in Python and common graph libraries/tooling.
- Fast learner who enjoys collaborating with end users (both technical and non-technical) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Valued
- Cloud-based distributed compute experience.
- Demonstrated ability to design effective architectures and drive delivery.
- Experience with stakeholder/project management in a financial services environment.
