The Product Owner develops the Salesforce Marketing Cloud product roadmap through coordination and collaboration with the stakeholders and leads the team through the execution of initiatives to deliver against Customer Lifecycle Goals.  The Product Owner will work with the Customer Lifecycle team and other product teams to understand specific business requirements to deliver innovative product features & solutions for target-customers.  Ensures the right features make it into the final product through backlog prioritization. You will identify and scope opportunities for new capabilities.

 

The Product Owner will manage product development lifecycle by collaborating with engineering, design, content and quality assurance teams to scope, build, launch and maintain assigned features/ functional areas. You will also analyze the performance of current systems and features, monitor feedback from customers and take actions to further improve them.  Additionally, the Product Owner will work with the cross functional team of campaign managers and developers to ensure timely execution of customer campaigns.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a strategy and roadmap to evolve Salesforce capabilities to support aggressive growth goals working closely with the Customer Lifecycle Team.
  • Responsible for Salesforce solution development including new capabilities such as text messaging through AWS, and Salesforce solution setup and deployment to new geographies. 
  • Ensures Salesforce Marketing Cloud integration with martech and product ecosystem  
  • Defines Agile project scope and is directly responsible for the management of the product backlog ensure delivery by scrum team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Represents business stakeholders (Customer Lifecycle Managers, Product Management) on project teams as the Product Owner/Decision Maker to assist in answering questions and to provide strategic direction to project teams. Provides project teams with technical expertise in business requirements and market conditions/needs shaping the specific functionality included in each product release.
  • Works with, and assists, the Customer Life Cycle Manager to translate high-level company vision and strategy into actionable product plans. Communicates and collaborates with internal and external customers to identify product improvements, analyze user needs, identify project scope, and document features/high level functional requirements.
  • Facilitates discussions and conflict resolution across teams with multiple Product Owners and Stakeholders to ensure timelines are met. Navigates organizational boundaries to develop a vertically aligned product implementation thus ensuring that product vision, roadmap, marketing, operational readiness, and product backlog are aligned.
  • Technical proficiency required to participate in sprint planning and have an informed, independent voice. Strong influencing skills are required when interfacing with business and development teams.
  • Directly interacts with product engineering teams, internal customers/stakeholders to ensure the right features make it into the final product.
  • Communicate with management and senior executive stakeholders about product requirements, direction, development and launch management, and provide metrics on performance against goals
  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Support solution design and integration, define user acceptance testing, and provide post implementation support to stakeholders and end-users

 

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelors` degree in relevant field (product development, engineering, computer science) and a minimum of 7 years` experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting.
  • Master`s degree preferred.
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts.
  • Minimum 5 years Salesforce Marketing Cloud design experience.
  • 2 years experience as a product owner.
  • Salesforce administrator certification or other certifications highly preferred. 
  • Solid experience developing or running digital platforms, coupled with knowledge of the underlying technology, both current and emerging.
  • Proven experience with Agile practices and development methodologies.
  • Experienced at Scrum team sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint review.
  • Demonstrated experience at understanding customer needs and user research.
  • Technical proficiency required to participate in sprint planning and have an informed, independent voice.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
