Migration Project Manager
Location: Edinburgh / UK (Remote considered with travel to Edinburgh as required)
Contract Type: Contract (6 months)
Rate: £500/day (Inside IR35)
An experienced Migration Project Managers is required to join a high-profile programme supporting a major transformation in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) sector. This is a 6-month contract role suited to professionals with a strong background in managing complex migration projects across geographically distributed teams.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of migration projects, ensuring they meet defined scope, timelines, and quality targets. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical migration expertise—especially within Life & Pensions or similar regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a portfolio of migration projects from initiation through to go-live.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans aligned with agreed timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with Migration SMEs and technical teams to scope, estimate, and deliver project outcomes.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior stakeholders.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Support operational readiness and facilitate smooth handover to business-as-usual teams.
- Promote continuous improvement and contribute to PM best practices across teams.
- Lead and coach geographically distributed project teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience managing technical data or asset migration projects.
- ???????Proven leadership of virtual teams and delivery in complex stakeholder environments.
- Background in Life & Pensions or similar financial services sectors strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and general project reporting tools.
- Recognised project management qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Technically hands-on with solid understanding of migration processes.
