Lead Enterprise Architect 
Hybrid working - Required to be onsite 2 days per week 


A Lead Enterprise Architect is required by a globally-recognised organisation based in Oxfordshire, as the seasoned Senior Enterprise Architect, you will be integral in guiding the organization's technological strategy and direction. You will leverage your deep knowledge of both business processes and technology to work closely with senior leaders, ensuring that technology investments align with broader organizational goals.

Your role will focus on identifying opportunities to harness technology for competitive advantage and shaping long-term roadmaps that drive organizational transformation and innovation. You will be responsible for ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs and are scalable for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure technology strategies align with the overall business objectives.
  • Create and manage comprehensive, multi-year roadmaps for IT changes, ensuring they contribute to long-term organizational success.
  • Drive the optimization of IT operations and foster a culture of innovation across the company.
  • Work alongside other architects to ensure efficiency, standardization, and cost-effective solutions, while enabling capabilities that drive business differentiation.
  • Develop and maintain architecture models, principles, and standards that guide technological implementation.
  • Participate in governance activities to ensure compliance with architecture standards, and ensure projects adhere to strategic goals.
  • Provide strategic advice on major initiatives, guiding technology decisions to align with the broader business architecture.
  • Build relationships with technology vendors to ensure the best possible outcomes in terms of product selection and implementation.

  • Demonstrate strong strategic thinking by effectively assessing complex scenarios, identifying opportunities, and managing potential risks.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to provide constructive feedback and alternative perspectives to improve decision-making.

Required Skills and Experience
Essential:

  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Working knowledge of modern tech platforms ie: AWS, SaaS, SAP etc. 
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to align technology decisions with broader, long-term business goals.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams and projects across multiple functions, influencing key decisions within the organization.
  • Solid understanding of the specific industry and its challenges, including regulatory issues and market dynamics.
  • Proven track record in assessing and managing risks related to architectural decisions and business outcomes.
  • Strong background in creating architectural documents such as roadmaps, strategies, and standards.
  • Proficiency in architecture modelling and notation methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Business Architecture frameworks, including capability modeling.
  • Awareness of emerging industry trends such as digital transformation, AI, and sustainable technology practices.
  • Experience working with innovative technology providers and leveraging them for competitive advantage.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities to find win-win solution
