Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent clients in all aspects of insurance coverage matters, including policy analysis, claims handling, and litigation.
- Analyze insurance policies and provide comprehensive coverage opinions on various types of policies, including general liability, property, professional liability, D&O, E&O, and cyber insurance.
- Handle all phases of litigation, from pre-trial discovery through trial and appeals, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Negotiate settlements, participate in mediations and arbitrations, and advocate for clients in court proceedings.
- Conduct legal research on emerging issues in insurance law and provide clients with strategic guidance on risk management and coverage disputes.
- Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm, such as litigation, corporate, and real estate, to provide integrated legal services to clients.
- Stay current on developments in insurance law, including state and federal regulations, and share insights with clients and colleagues.
- Contribute to business development efforts by participating in industry events, writing articles, and engaging in client outreach.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the state bar in the jurisdiction where the position is based.
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage law, with a focus on policyholder or insurer representation.
- Strong litigation skills, including experience with discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills with a keen attention to detail.
