Job description

Position: Incident Response Partner – Cybersecurity & Privacy
Experience Level: 8+ Years (Partner / Counsel Level)
Location: Remote or Hybrid (Flexible on U.S. Location)
Compensation: Base + Origination + Participation in Group Revenue (Flexible Models Available)

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a nationally ranked AmLaw firm known for its award-winning Incident Response and Privacy group. The team is seeking a senior attorney (Partner or Counsel level) with deep experience in cybersecurity breach response and regulatory counseling to join and help lead complex, high-urgency matters across the country.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an attorney looking to take their career — and their client base — to a more collaborative and well-supported platform, with the resources and scale to grow an IR-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end breach response matters including ransomware, data exfiltration, and insider events.

  • Serve as primary contact for clients, forensic vendors, cyber insurers, and regulators.

  • Oversee regulatory responses (e.g., OCR, SEC, FTC, state AGs, GDPR authorities) and manage complex multi-jurisdictional notification strategies.

  • Mentor and supervise associates on breach response and privacy counseling matters.

  • Contribute to practice development, client relationships, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

  • Optional: Expand your own client base with full support for business development, cross-practice collaboration, and marketing efforts.

Ideal Candidate

  • 8+ years of legal experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and incident response.

  • Extensive breach experience with law firms, boutique privacy shops, or in-house legal departments.

  • Strong command of global breach notification frameworks including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, GLBA, and state-level regimes.

  • Trusted advisor to clients under pressure and capable of running point on highly sensitive breach matters.

  • CIPP or other privacy certifications preferred but not required.

  • Bar admission in good standing; open to candidates across all U.S. jurisdictions.

What This Platform Offers

  • Nationally ranked Cybersecurity & Privacy group with a consistent flow of sophisticated IR work.

  • Ability to operate fully remote or work hybrid in any major U.S. market.

  • Competitive partner comp model with origination and revenue-sharing flexibility.

  • Non-siloed structure that promotes collaboration and cross-practice integration.

  • Deep bench of associates, paralegals, and technical support for execution and scale.

  • Proven ability to integrate lateral partners and support business expansion.
