Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Incident Response Partner to lead our incident response practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a robust background in cyber incident management, data breaches, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding clients through crisis situations and developing comprehensive strategies to mitigate risks and liabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage incident response efforts for clients facing cybersecurity incidents, including data breaches, ransomware attacks, and regulatory investigations.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement incident response plans that align with their business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into cyber incidents, analyzing potential legal implications and recommending strategic responses.
  • Provide expert legal advice on cybersecurity laws, regulations, and best practices to clients across various sectors.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including forensic experts, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies, to manage incident response effectively.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team.
  • Engage in business development activities, including networking, presentations, and writing thought leadership pieces to enhance the firm’s profile in the incident response arena.
  • Stay current with trends and developments in cybersecurity, data protection, and incident response to ensure clients receive the best possible legal counsel.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in incident response, cybersecurity law, and data privacy.
  • Proven track record of managing complex incident response cases and achieving successful outcomes for clients.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle high-stakes situations with confidence.
  • Demonstrated business development skills and an existing network in the cybersecurity and legal communities.
