I am currently recruiting for a business within the professional services space who are currently recruiting for a Data Analytics Manager. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Data Transformation project, collaborating with the internal IT Team but also external vendors to implement a new Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). They will also contribute to the data analysis and visualisation efforts to showcase value to the organisation.
In conjunction with the Data Science team, this role will be responsible for defining strategic data requirements to facilitate the delivery of data consumption use cases.
The role requires strong skills in data analysis and visualization, along with a working knowledge of data science and programming.
Responsibilities
- Lead the data analytics and visualization function within the organization, including responsibilities such as:
- Designing, maintaining, and updating crucial information used in underwriting, ultimately contributing to the underwriting dashboard.
- Collaborating with the IT team and Data Engineer to implement necessary changes to semantic/curated layers or data marts.
- Partnering with the IT team to select appropriate Artificial Intelligence tools that offer risk insights directly to underwriters.
- Designing dashboards and visualizations to present the new analyses conducted by the actuarial team and data scientists.
- Collaborating with data scientists to conduct research, identify, cleanse (in cooperation with the IT team and Data Engineer), analyze, visualize, and draw insights from external data sources.
- Working with the IT team and Data Engineer to educate the business about available information, encouraging self-service and fostering idea generation for future analyses, including gathering requirements and use cases.
- Collaborating closely with the Data Science Manager to facilitate the upskilling of data scientists and data analysts, enabling them to learn new and emerging techniques while maintaining accountability.
- Collaborating with the Data Science Manager to define the strategic data requirements for delivering data consumption use cases. Specific responsibilities for the Data Analytics Manager:
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have:
- A proven track record in management.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, including engagement with technical experts and senior management.
- Expertise in data analysis and visualization techniques.
- Proficiency in programming (Python skills are advantageous).
- A working knowledge of various data science techniques.
- Demonstrable experience in data analysis and visualization, preferably within Insurance
- Experience in a similar role supporting the development of data consumption use cases.
- Experience working with Azure data technology stack, including Data Factory, SQL, Synapse Analytics, and PowerBI (an advantage).
