Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Class Action Litigation Associate to join our dynamic legal team in private practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, with a particular focus on class action lawsuits. This role requires exceptional analytical, research, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage complex legal issues and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist in managing class action lawsuits from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and development. Prepare legal memoranda and briefs.
  • Discovery: Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting depositions, and coordinating with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Present arguments and evidence effectively.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress, legal advice, and strategic recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure comprehensive case preparation and execution.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with court rules, ethical standards, and firm policies throughout all stages of litigation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on class action lawsuits preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
    • Proficient in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex litigation matters.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state class action procedures and regulations.
  • Experience with electronic discovery (e-discovery) and case management software.
