The Beauty Category Lead - Marketplace is a Builder & Operator role responsible for strategically thinking through our business development strategy across digitally native marketplace brands, distributors, and retailers to build a Beauty business on TikTok that is truly differentiated. You will develop a talented team of problem-solvers, build external partnerships, influence the experience for Beauty shoppers, and grow a commercially significant business. You will guide the team to lead business development and build deep partnerships, while also identifying and nurturing brands and creator partnerships that resonate on TikTok #Beauty.

Responsibilities
You will develop the strategy for how TikTok Shop should partner with Retailers, Distributors, and digitally-native Marketplace seller brands to create a differentiated Beauty category
Define goals, identify opportunities across brands, segments, and trends, shape our go-to-market plan, and lead commercial operations
You will invent the content & social commerce growth model to build and scale marketplace seller businesses through TikTok's Creators, Live streams, short video, and community features. You will also partner with Product teams to develop new platform capabilities needed to deliver your vision
As a key leader within the larger organization, you will help hire & develop a strong team of category managers that demonstrate both operational discipline and creativity
You will coach and lead the category management team to grow their sellers through rigorous business operation, creative content and campaigns, and by leveraging the TikTok platform.
You will lead business development to attract & onboard sellers, distributors, and retailers to establish a comprehensive Beauty category that is meaningful to Beauty shoppers & creators
You will consult with and advise senior leaders at Retailers & Brands on TikTok Shop's value proposition, how it can drive their brand strategy, and create partnerships that scale
You will help envision a world-class experience for Beauty brands and shoppers, and partner cross-functionally with multiple teams to make a great merchant and customer experience a reality
You will apply your strong commercial acumen to understand deeply how the TikTok platform and content- and creator- commerce work together with brands, develop your own insights into how the category can scale, and lead the team to act on those insights and accelerate the business
You will represent TikTok Shop at industry events and brand summits, and foster long-term partnerships with brands that help scale the category
Required Qualifications
10+ years' experience as an operator in eCommerce or omnichannel Retail in Brand-driven categories such as Beauty, Personal Care, CPG, Fashion
Track record of delivering & exceeding sales, GMV, or other commercial goals
Experience partnering with Product teams to develop platform features to support category growth
Experience leading business development and partnerships at senior leadership levels
Experience hiring & developing talent and operating high-performing commercial teams Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise with 3rd party sellers and marketplace platforms
Experience with TikTok or other content-driven platforms or content-based commerce on either brand or platform side

Job Information and Benefits
Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $125400 - $232560 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
TikTok covers 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. As well as Dental, Vision, Short/Long term Disability, Basic Life, Voluntary Life and AD&D insurance plans. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care. You will receive 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off(PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.
