Governance and Experience is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules and systems to ensure quality. As the lead of Category Governance, you will be part of a team consisting of policy managers, investigation ops, and program managers to drive cross-functional collaboration in the design and management of projects to ensure balance between growth and sustainability of the platform in each market.

What You'll Do
- Responsible for risk assessment in the e-commerce platform industry category business with experience in at least one of the following industries: Fashion, Furniture, Kitchen, Electronics, Appliances, Food and Beverages, Beauty and Personal Care, Collectibles, Pre-owned, Jewelry and other major product categories.
- Lead project teams across commercial, compliance, operation and technical teams to define and scope the necessary tools and workflows to be developed.
- Work closely with other global Tik Tok Shop markets (e.g., UK, Singapore, Vietnam) category and business teams for best practices, trends and ensure a global compliant business operation.
- Develop control strategies and rules that align with business development to ensure the healthy growth of the business and selection, all the while protecting our customers.
- Co-develop the necessary protections, guardrails, policies, enforcement and operations to enable specific selection to be listed and sold on TTS
- Build a comprehensive, accurate, objective indicator system and monitoring framework based on business goals and business models. Utilize this monitoring system to gain clear insights into the overall business and identify business issues.
- Participate in the implementation of industry governance strategies. Optimize platform rules and product features based on feedback from all parties to enhance governance accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in governance policies in competitive industries and adjust industry control plans in a timely manner according to business needs.
- Give customers access to safe selection that was not previously available.
- Conduct data analysis on category product, seller and customer trends for weekly/monthly meetings
Qualifications
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with at least 10 years of work experience. Experience in well-known e-commerce platforms and vertical industry experience is preferred.
- Work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment.
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in using Excel (proficiency in SQL and Python is a plus).
- Excellent logical reasoning skills, resource integration abilities, teamwork skills, communication skills, and the ability to handle pressure.
- Strong sense of ownership and a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communicator both written and verbal
- Track record of strong project delivery, negotiations and relationship management along with deep analytical acumen.
- Ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams to achieving goals
- Having an in-depth knowledge of vertical / category products and mapping business strengths and customer needs to justify compliance, regulatory and operation investment to allow the selection to be sold and under what conditions/criteria
- Monitor, analyze and own key performance indicators such as subcategory performance, SLAs, enforcement and catalog data
- Strong management capabilities and getting things done themselves. Be an experienced team player who is motivated by an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
