Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on compliance with a wide range of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and other federal and state privacy laws.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and management of privacy policies, procedures, and training programs for clients.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments, data mapping, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Draft and negotiate data processing agreements, privacy notices, and other privacy-related documentation.
  • Provide legal counsel on data breach response and incident management, including notification obligations and regulatory reporting.
  • Stay current with emerging privacy laws, regulations, and industry best practices to proactively advise clients on potential impacts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, compliance, and technology, to ensure comprehensive and effective privacy compliance strategies.
  • Support partners in business development efforts by contributing to thought leadership, client presentations, and other marketing initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Admission to the state bar in the jurisdiction where the position is based.
  • 2-5 years of experience in privacy law, with a focus on privacy compliance and data protection.
  • Deep knowledge of global privacy frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other relevant laws and regulations.
