ML Architect / Applied AI Researcher – Generative AI
Location: Venice, CA (On-site Preferred)
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 + Equity & Benefits
An innovative AI startup is seeking an ML Architect / Applied AI Researcher to lead advancements in deep learning, generative AI, and large language models (LLMs). This senior role focuses on building scalable AI solutions, fine-tuning models, and driving automation in AI-powered workflows for enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop cutting-edge AI models, focusing on generative AI and LLMs.
- Apply the latest advancements, including reinforcement learning with human feedback to improve model performance.
- Fine-tune models using private customer data for turnkey implementation.
- Define strategies to expand AI capabilities with autonomous agents.
- Evaluate model performance and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior researchers.
- Present research insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build external partnerships and represent the company at industry events.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in AI research, with expertise in deep learning, generative models, and LLMs.
- Proven track record of deploying LLMs into production environments.
- Proficiency in frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts effectively.
- Published research in AI or machine learning journals is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with open-source frameworks like LangChain.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and security best practices.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.
