VisionPlus Developer

Start: ASAP
Duration: 6-12 months
Location: Sheffield (hybrid)
Pay: INSIDE IR35, up to £425

We are seeking a technically skilled VisionPLUS Engineer to join our client within the Retail Banking Lending sector. This position will involve extensive collaboration with internal engineering teams, DevOps tooling experts, legal, risk management, cyber security, and external software providers.

Key Responsibilities
- Apply a thorough understanding of credit card systems, with particular appreciation for WINGSFM and VMX.
- Work confidently within VisionPLUS Online architecture, particularly with CICS, including development, debugging, and issue resolution of online components.
- Demonstrate solid working knowledge of the CMS module.
- Support production environments and contribute to all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Independently produce functional and technical design documentation, including high-level and low-level designs.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure alignment across system integration points.
- Drive enhancements and upgrades through structured and repeatable improvement cycles.
- Provide technical oversight and assist in resolving complex issues within live environments.
- Ensure all development and change activities align with internal risk, compliance, and security protocols.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 5 to 15 years of proven experience in software development, ideally in large-scale financial services environments.
- Strong hands-on development expertise in VisionPLUS, especially within modules such as CMS, FAS, VMX, TRAMS, and IAS.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies including Cobol, CICS, JCL, IAM, VSAM, EZT, and File-Aid/Manager.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with governance and reporting structures in a regulated environment.
- Ability to operate independently and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Experience contributing to global initiatives with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
