Senior Solution Architect

Location: Strasbourg, France (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Long-term freelance / contract

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions within a large-scale, complex IT environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting integration tiers, defining service orchestration processes, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) tiers and integration layers.
  • Participate in technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
  • Define and model business processes to support orchestration of web services (BPEL).
  • Draft and review use cases for new system developments and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical and functional teams to ensure effective solution delivery.
  • Apply established software development methodologies and architectural standards.
  • Ensure proper configuration, release, and version management of architectural artifacts.
  • Implement SOA design patterns including message routing, transformation, filtering, sequencing, and guaranteed delivery.
  • Define architecture standards for security, logging, auditing, policy management, and performance monitoring.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 9 years of professional IT experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in SOA platform architecture and development.
  • Strong expertise in Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and integration tier architecture.
  • Proven experience with BPEL and business process orchestration.
  • Solid knowledge of Web Services technologies (SOAP, WSDL, XML/XSL).
  • Strong background in J2EE middleware technologies.
  • Experience working within Linux, UNIX, or AIX enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns and middleware design principles.
  • Experience defining service performance monitoring, tuning, and KPI frameworks.
  • Good understanding of network and system architecture principles.
