Senior SAP PP/DS Lead (S/4) – Dartmouth, MA – Hybrid On-Site

My client who is the operating company for a selection of leading Global sports brands (manufacturing) is currently looking to on board a Senior S/4 PP/DS Lead.
My client utilizes a flexible work from home/travel policy. Travel numbers are roughly in the 20-30% range and thus those who live within a commutable distance to Dartmouth are ideally sought after.
Please note: My client is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Therefore, applicants must have the necessary work authorization to be employed in the U.S.
The Role – As the functional lead for SAP Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling you’ll be responsible for leading the solution design and managing the implementation of SAP S4/HANA PP/DS. Reporting to the Senior Manager and as a key member of the SAP Center of Excellence solutions capability team, this position will collaborate with key business stakeholders globally and IT staff on the planning and execution of the PP/DS solution. This role will be a hands-on solution expert in design, configuration, and testing who’s able to lead solution discussions to drive a best-in-class systems capability within the space.

The Role – As the functional lead for SAP Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling you’ll be responsible for leading the solution design and managing the implementation of SAP S4/HANA PP/DS. This role will be a hands-on solution expert in design, configuration, and testing who’s able to lead solution discussions to drive a best-in-class systems capability within the space.
Responsibilities:
- As a member of the SAP COE, you’ll own the solution and act as the primary point of contact to collaborate with internal and external resources on a global greenfield implementation to identify best practices, and design and build our client’s global SAP PP/DS solution.
- Analyze business process gaps, develop test plans, and translate requirements into specs. Work with technical team members to develop the solution and execute testing as part of the solution rollout.
- Support operations including end user assistance, system troubleshooting, and configuration of the core SAP PP/DS modules as needed.
- Manage end user support needs by coordinating training where required and initiating system projects where changes in SAP configuration or programming are required. Coordinate with SAP training staff to deliver professional and succinct training materials for SAP functionality.
- Direct master data uploads and other annual system activities that are required for business continuity.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on SAP ERP platform configuration work and preferably 3-4 years of brownfield/greenfield deployment experience in SAP S/4 APO PPDS.
- Strong knowledge of SAP PPDS, including planning boards, detailed scheduling, capacity planning, and PP/DS heuristics.
- Hands on configuration/implementation of PP/DS.
- Experience in configuring PP/DS planning board layouts, including the creation of custom views, key figures, and alerts.
- Experience implementing PP/DS with a large volume of custom production orders (MTO), up to 10,000 daily.
- Knowledge of PP/DS heuristics such as Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP), Production Planning (PP), and Detailed Scheduling (DS).
- Experience in creating and configuring PP/DS Master Data, including Products, Locations, Resources, and Production Data Structures.
- Willingness to travel, as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field (MIS, IT) required. SAP Certification in APO PPDS and associated areas preferred.
