Senior Data Management Specialist
Bristol OR London - 2/3 days per week

A forward-thinking consultancy committed to leveraging data as a strategic asset, are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Management Specialist to join their end client and play a pivotal role in creating enduring and sustainable data assets that drive business success.
Responsibilities:
- Translating business requirements into robust data management capabilities, focusing on defining, curating, and managing definitions, taxonomies, data store structures, business data flows, technical data lineage, and sensitive data discovery.
- Collaborating with stakeholders in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment to enable straight-through processing and analytical exploitation of data.
- Contributing proactively to the enterprise-wide vision of treating data as a corporate asset.
- Conducting information gathering sessions to onboard and support the user community, aligning data management solutions with their needs.
- Developing comprehensive data management process documentation, educating users on best practices and offering guidance on implementation.
- Partnering with team members to produce high-quality onboarding and technical documentation in various formats (playbooks, job aids, training courses, how-tos, video tutorials).
- Identifying technology and process constraints, leading mitigation strategies for complex and critical initiatives.
- Managing complex work by outlining objectives, timelines, risks, and deliverables, ensuring essential work progresses efficiently.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data management best practices, including data definitions, taxonomies, metadata management, data flows, lineage, sensitive data discovery, and data privacy compliance.
Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of modern data platforms, preferably with expertise in cloud-based solutions, particularly on the Azure platform.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and articulate - complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
