Freelance Security Architect – Brussels (3 Days Onsite)

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Security Architect to strengthen their cybersecurity capabilities across IT, OT, Cloud, and critical infrastructure environments. The consultant will support the definition, design, and governance of the target security architecture while ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and internal security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the target security architecture (IT/OT/Cloud/IoT).

• Apply Security by Design & Privacy by Design principles across projects.

• Conduct risk assessments, threat modelling, and gap analysis.

• Ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, IEC 62443, NIS2, NIST, GDPR.

• Support architecture committees and security intake processes.

• Provide guidance on IAM/ICAM, network segmentation, Zero Trust, SAP integration, and cryptography.

• Align detection capabilities (SIEM, XDR, monitoring) with architecture requirements.

• Collaborate with project, IT, OT, and business teams on secure solution design.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–10 years’ experience as a Security Architect in hybrid IT/OT/Cloud environments.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, IEC 62443, NIS2, NIST and related governance models.

• Expertise in IAM/ICAM (IAM, IGA, PAM, federation).

• Solid understanding of network & cloud security (Zero Trust, segmentation, Azure/AWS/GCP).

• Background in cryptography, PKI, and secure authentication.

• Experience with SIEM/XDR and monitoring architecture.

• Proficiency with architecture modelling (e.g., Archimate).

• Relevant certifications (CISSP strongly preferred; CISM, CISA, ISO LI, SABSA are assets).

• French or Dutch + English required.
