Role Overview
As a Privacy Counsel Attorney, you will provide expert guidance on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring compliance with global privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong foundation in privacy law who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on compliance with international, federal, and state privacy laws and regulations.
  • Draft and negotiate privacy and data security provisions in contracts.
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing data privacy and security policies and practices.
  • Respond to data breach incidents and manage associated regulatory investigations.
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments and audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
  • Stay current on emerging privacy laws, regulations, and trends to provide proactive legal advice.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar.
  • Ideally 8+ years legal experience, with a focus on privacy and data protection.
  • Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and other privacy frameworks.
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar certification is a plus but not required.
