Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on compliance with international, federal, and state privacy laws and regulations.
- Draft and negotiate privacy and data security provisions in contracts.
- Assist clients in developing and implementing data privacy and security policies and practices.
- Respond to data breach incidents and manage associated regulatory investigations.
- Conduct privacy risk assessments and audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
- Stay current on emerging privacy laws, regulations, and trends to provide proactive legal advice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar.
- Ideally 8+ years legal experience, with a focus on privacy and data protection.
- Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and other privacy frameworks.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar certification is a plus but not required.
