Job description
Partnering with a leading mobile app in the news and social media industries, we are in search of a leader for one of our software engineering teams - specifically focused on designing innovative features for our millions of users! These features will be key critical in delivering engaging and smart content to our global network.
Responsibilities
- Lead a varied skill team (front end/backend) engineers to build new features in order to attract new users and engage existing users
- Optimize user’s onboarding experience and improve retention rate through use of algorithms
- Partner with key stakeholders to understand business needs and define strategies that align
- Develop and mentor engineering team members
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in architecting, developing, and shipping software products with large scale
- Experience in leading engineering teams that build innovative product features for consumer-facing apps
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- MS/BS degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or other similar fields
Nice-to-Haves
- Knowledge of cloud based architecture (AWS preferable)
- Experience with news apps or news media
- Experience with user acquisition or growth hacking strategies
