Job description

My client seeks a Kubernetes Administrator for the implementation and upkeep of the Kubernetes infrastructure, which utilises AKS.

You will work in close collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure that the containerised applications are deployed with ease, exhibit reliability, scalability, and optimal performance. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of our infrastructure operations.

Your specific duties encompass the deployment and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters in the Azure cloud environments (AKS), deploying applications into these clusters, and configuring and optimising Kubernetes resources, including pods, deployments, services, and namespaces. Additionally, you will monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability, performance, and security. By collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams, you will automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and scaling processes. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and security policies in Kubernetes environments and provide technical guidance and support to development teams on Kubernetes-related issues and best practices.

To be eligible for this position, you should have at least 3-4 years of experience in administering Kubernetes clusters in production environments, a thorough comprehension of containerisation concepts, and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. You should possess proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting, along with experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and container management services like EKS, AKS, or GKE. Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and techniques like Terraform or Ansible will be an added advantage. Relevant certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar are also a plus.
