IT Service Manager Location: Edinburgh, UK hybrid: 2/3 days required onsite per week Duration: 6 Months INSIDE IR35 An experience IT Service Manager is required by a leading global consultancy to join their Financial Services client in Edinburgh. The purpose of this role is to continuously improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of their IT services, ensuring robust and trust-based relationships between IT and business functions at all levels. Key Responsibilities: - Service Ownership: Full ownership of all aspects of assigned services, including those provided by IT or external parties. Maintain up-to-date data and links between business services and underpinning technologies and configuration items. - Business Process Understanding: Understand business processes and how IT services support them. Articulate how IT issues, improvements, and changes impact business processes. - Relationship Building: Build and maintain trust-based relationships between IT and the business. Act as a single point of contact and escalation between IT and business areas. - Customer Needs Translation: Understand business customers’ needs and translate these into actionable improvements or initiatives. - Service Measurement: Define, baseline, and measure progress against service strategies and improvement plans using metrics and financial measures. - Standardization and Best Practices: Drive the use of standardized principles, practices, methodologies, and toolsets. Embed ITIL practices across IT and the business. Along with a strong background in service management, the Service Delivery Manager will also have the following: - Customer Focus: Driven by customer service and outcomes. - Stakeholder Management: Excellent skills in influencing, mediating, and driving collaboration. - IT Knowledge: Understanding of IT and technical terminology and practices, including ITIL. - Commercial Awareness: Focus on and ability to drive cost-efficiency.- - Operational Experience: Experience in operational and service improvement. - Financial Services Experience: Experience working in a financial services environment. - Supplier Management: Experience managing suppliers. - Communication: Excellent communication skills.
