Job description
Skedda is seeking a talented and experienced Director of People to
join their growing team. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a high-performing HR function that shapes company culture and makes Skedda a great place to work. The Director of People will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for all talent acquisition, growing headcount from 25 to 45 by EOY, and to 100 in the next 5 years. They will also be responsible for human resources, and company culture.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition: The Director of People will lead the talent acquisition efforts, with a heavy focus on sales and engineering. They will be responsible for sourcing and hiring top-quality talent to support the company’s growth.
Human Resources: The Director of People will serve as the primary owner of all HR functions, including:
-
Hiring logistics,
-
Payroll and benefits administration,
-
Day-to-day employee questions and issues,
-
Performance management,
-
Mentoring junior leaders,
-
OKR management.
They will ensure the HR function is well-run, efficient, and aligned with company values and objectives.
Company Culture: The Director of People will be a champion for Skedda’s company culture, serving as the primary ambassador for our core values and company mission. They will be responsible for organizing events, maintaining day-to-day morale, and promoting remote work best practices.
Background:
The ideal candidate will have a mix of talent acquisition and in- house HR experience, with a preference for growth-stage experience (although not necessarily in a hyper-growth environment).
It’s important to know what it means to work in a dynamic, result oriented fast-paced environment without the infrastructure (and bureaucracy) of a larger company. A positive “can do” approach, resilience and resourcefulness are a must.
The candidate must be able to run the HR function independently and with a high level of autonomy, with project management skills being vital to the success of this role.
It would also be advantageous for the candidate to have a background of driving staff engagement in a remote, globally distributed environment.
If you are a talented, experienced HR professional with a passion for building great company cultures and a track record of success in talent acquisition and HR management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity at Skedda.
