Job description

Skedda is a leading hybrid workplace experience platform, serving over 12,000 customers and nearly two million users, including Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, Harvard University, and Krispy Kreme. The company is a key player in defining the future of work, helping businesses design meaningful, seamless, fully-integrated employee experiences in the hybrid workplace. Today, the product includes functionality such as floor plan visualizations, desk and meeting room booking, utilization reports and analytics, as well as integrations with key workplace tools like Microsoft365 and Google Workspace. Skedda is the winner of multiple G2 awards, including 2022 ‘Easiest to Use’ and ‘Most Likely to Recommend,’ and landed a spot on G2’s Top 50 Office Products of 2023.

Skedda recently took on a strategic growth investment from Five Elms Capital to fuel its next phase. We are seeking a driven and experienced Director of People to join our growing team. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a high-performing HR function that shapes company culture and makes Skedda a great place to work. The Director of People will report directly to the CEO and will lead talent acquisition efforts, human resources, and drive company culture.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retention, engagement, and development
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts, growing headcount from 25 to 45 by EOY
  • Responsible for sourcing and hiring top-quality talent, with a heavy focus on sales and engineering, to support the company’s growth
  • Champion for Skedda’s culture, serving as primary ambassador for the company mission and core values, supporting morale, and promoting remote work best practices
  • Primary owner of all HR functions, including:
    • Hiring logistics
    • Payroll and benefits administration
    • Performance management and recognition
    • Mentoring leaders
    • Implementing training and development
    • Ensure the HR function is results-oriented, efficient, and aligned with company values and objectives

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in HR (preference for growth-stage experience)
  • Talent acquisition and in-house HR experience
  • A self-starter and “owner” with demonstrated ability to run the HR function independently with minimal oversight
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to drive engagement in a remote, globally distributed environment
  • Energized by the opportunity to be a key contributor to defining the future of work!
