Job Title: DevOps Engineer – CI/CD & Platform Automation

Location: Remote / Hybrid (EU)
Contract Type: Freelance /B2B; EU nationality

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the implementation and customization of enterprise CI/CD pipelines, ensure secure and efficient software delivery, and act as a key bridge between development teams and the central DevOps function. This role will play a critical part in standardizing and optimizing build, test, and deployment workflows for large-scale digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Implementation & Customization

  • Adopt and implement standard CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Maven/Gradle for Java (Quarkus/Spring), React/TypeScript, and test automation workflows.
  • Customize pipelines to meet specific project needs while ensuring compliance with central DevOps policies.
  • Integrate Nexus Repository Manager for artifact storage.
  • Automate container builds using Docker and Helm.
  • Deploy and scale containerized applications on OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with the central DevOps team to identify gaps and drive improvements.

Security & Compliance (DevSecOps)

  • Enforce enterprise security standards and integrate SAST/DAST tools such as Veracode, Trivy, and Syft.
  • Manage secrets and credentials using HashiCorp Vault in line with security policies.

Monitoring, Logging & Observability

  • Implement centralized logging and metrics with ELK Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Ensure systems are observable and issues are easily traceable.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the link between the Digital Product team and the central DevOps team, ensuring smooth adoption of standards.
  • Support developers and testers in optimizing pipelines and workflows.

Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Optimize OpenShift resources for cost efficiency and performance.
  • Implement auto-scaling and self-healing strategies for high availability.

  • CI/CD & Build Tools: Jenkins, Git (BitBucket), Maven, Nexus
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Podman, Helm, OpenShift (OKD/OCP)
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible
  • Security & Compliance: HashiCorp Vault, Veracode, Trivy, Syft
  • Monitoring & Observability: ELK, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Databases & Messaging: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Apache Kafka (Confluent), Solace PubSub+
  • Scripting & Automation: Python, Bash
  • Collaboration Tools: Jira, SharePoint, Confluence, Microsoft Teams
  • Methodologies: Agile, Hybrid DevOps, federated environments
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to work cross-functionally.
