Database Architect (DBA)

Work mode: Full Remote (EU)

Daily rate: €400

Eligibility: EU Citizens only

Role Overview

We are looking for a Database Architect to design, model, optimize, and maintain database systems within a large, international environment. The role involves working across relational and NoSQL technologies, improving performance, ensuring security, and supporting project teams with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data analysis and data modelling
  • Database design, implementation, and architecture
  • Reverse engineering and enhancement of existing databases
  • Development, maintenance, and integration of database components
  • Integration with external databases and systems
  • Establishment of best practices and naming conventions
  • Creation of technical documentation
  • Support with deployment and configuration
  • Troubleshooting and performance optimization
  • Delivery of technical evaluations and audit reports
  • Conducting risk analysis
  • Participation in technical and project meetings

Required Expertise and Technologies

  • 3+ years in data modelling and database design (e.g., SQL Developer Data Modeler, Hackolade, NoSQL Workbench)
  • 5+ years with relational databases (preferably Oracle)
  • 1+ year with NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • 5+ years with SQL and PL/SQL
  • 1+ year in database security (encryption, access controls, GDPR/HIPAA)
  • 3+ years in database architecture
  • 3+ years in performance tuning
  • 3+ years in backup and recovery
  • 3+ years in data visualization and analytics
  • 1+ year in cloud database management (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
  • 1+ year in scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
  • 1+ year understanding OS-level configurations (Linux, Windows)
  • 3+ years in disaster recovery planning
  • 1+ year experience with Agile methodology
  • 1+ year experience with Confluence and Jira

  • Ability to write clear technical and non-technical documentation
  • Strong communication with both business and technical audiences
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations
  • High quality standards and attention to detail
  • Adaptability to evolving database technologies
  • Strong communication in multilingual meetings
  • Ability to work in international, multicultural teams
  • Strong teamwork, self-starting attitude, and collaboration skills
  • Fluency in English; French is an advantage
