About the Team

The team leverages world-class analytics to track and predict the financial and economic performance of companies and countries globally. Their success is built on applying top-tier minds and techniques to unique and unmined datasets more quickly and intelligently than the competition. The diverse group consists of individuals with Ph.Ds in computer science, economics, engineering, and math, with prior experience in tech startups, investment banks, management consultancies, national laboratories, and academia. Close collaboration with portfolio managers and analysts ensures that their forecasts generate alpha for investors.

The Role

  • Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques to analyze large data sets
  • Evaluate new data sets for statistical relevance to financial metrics
  • Produce forecasts for use in quantitative and discretionary investment strategies

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Econometrics (PhD preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research utilizing large data sets
  • Programming experience in Python, SQL, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, C#, or Perl
  • Understanding of financial markets and alternative data

  • Capable of digesting and synthesizing large and unstructured data sets

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, approachable to team members and management
  • Self-reliant with good common sense
  • Skilled in building strong relationships within the company and network with peers and sell-side analysts
