Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Norwich (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, flexible)

Day Rate: £510 per day (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months

Start Date: Immediate

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer with strong AWS expertise to support the delivery of cloud platform solutions and project initiatives. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a strong DevOps mindset, capable of working in agile environments and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Jira stories in line with sprint and project plans
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely delivery
  • Build and implement cloud infrastructure solutions across platforms and projects
  • Utilize appropriate DevOps tools and technologies to achieve team objectives
  • Participate in and facilitate agile ceremonies including stand-ups and planning sessions
  • Support deployment and implementation planning activities
  • Manage priorities, risks, and issues effectively
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors where required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and delivery practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps
  • Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, KMS, SSM, Step Functions, ACM, and Backup
  • Solid experience with AWS infrastructure and networking services such as VPC, Control Tower, AWS Organizations, and Service Control Policies
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and AWS CLI
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, and Packer
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including Datadog, PagerDuty, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and SIEM integrations
  • Strong understanding of service management, release, and change processes
  • Experience administering Windows Server and/or Red Hat Linux in enterprise cloud environments

Desirable Skills

  • Additional scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Knowledge of tools such as HashiCorp Vault, Git, Groovy, Squid Proxy, and Trend Micro
  • Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, firewalls, routing, NACLs, and NAT
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, encryption, and SSL
  • Experience working in Agile or platform-based teams
  • Exposure to ITIL frameworks
