Job title: Server  Engineer

Location: Basingstoke/Dorking (Hybrid)

Salary: £40,000 + 8,5% bonus + up to £5,ooo call allowance

About the role:

As a Server Engineer, accountable for providing level II technical assistance for existing and future infrastructure technologies in your designated field, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of one or several cloud/window/Linux/networking infrastructure technologies in the enterprise environment.Duties include ensuring the availability of applications, assisting in configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of our enterprise computing environment.

 You will be responsible for ensuring system component performance is at optimum levels and for evaluating and approving measures to correct variances. You will be Implements an enterprise monitoring environment using relevant technologies: (Alert Site / Pager Duty / Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS), System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Azure monitoring products, Insert networking monitoring tools, etc.)

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent relevant business experience
• Ability to operate independently in developing and implementing the most complex technical solutions
• Highly developed technical expertise in multiple key operating/networking system or subsystem areas
• Able to leverage scripting and other tools to automate routine tasks
• Through product research and personal experience, able to articulate strategy for appropriating various software and technologies to meet long range computing requirements
• Where applicable, demonstrates experience supporting in-house developed business applications and working directly with application development teams
