My client who is the operating company for a selection of leading Global sports brands (manufacturing) is currently looking to on board an experienced SAP Finance Manager at the Senior Manager level.
My client utilizes a flexible work from home/travel policy. Travel numbers are roughly in the 20-30% range and thus those who live within a commutable distance to either Dartmouth, MA or San Diego, CA are ideally sought after.

The Sr. Manager/Functional Lead for Financial Systems is responsible for designing and managing the implementation of, as well as process improvements, within SAP S/4 HANA that support future business growth and scalability.
You will be responsible for rapidly evolving the financial systems and processes supporting the Finance and Accounting functions within an SAP S/4 environment. This position will collaborate with key business stakeholders and IT staff on the strategy, planning, and execution for all S/4 implementations.
This role will also be responsible for operational excellence, including the management of external IT resources within their functional area. This role will be a hands-on leader in configuration (primarily in the SAP S/4 HANA space) to drive synergies, developing key metrics to measure success as well as a key contributor in the development of a strategic roadmap.

The Role:
  • Will act as primary liaison between the businesses and IT organizations
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders across all divisions, brands and functional areas to develop enterprise service models, understanding business imperatives and established priorities, and align development resources and schedules to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
  • This will include the continued development of existing applications, specifically large cloud migration, and the identification of new applications.
  • Develop robust frameworks and methods to understand current state of financial system solutions, identify gaps, propose improvements, evaluate solution alternatives, prioritize requirements, and drive consensus to achieve the requirements of the acceptance criteria.
  • Develop a roadmap for financial system automation from idea through successful greenfield implementation, driving accountability amongst key stakeholders in Technology and Finance functions (CFO, Accounting, FP&A, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Tax and Treasury).
  • Identify strategies for the standardization and applicability of financial systems solutions.
  • Manage end user support needs by coordinating training where required and initiating system projects where changes in SAP configuration or programming are required. Coordinate with SAP training staff to deliver professional and succinct training materials for SAP functionality.
  • Drive changes and enhancements through the change management process. This would include project management; communication with stakeholders, users, and developers; functional unit tests; user acceptance tests; cutover tasks, and ongoing support.

The Candidate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or related field (MIS, IT, and/or finance, accounting, business/computer science) SAP Certification a plus.
  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP ERP platform configuration and greenfield deployment experience in SAP S/4 across financial systems, finance business processes and organization structure/operating models across core finance functions.
  • Track record of success leading complex transformation efforts with teams inside and outside of finance functions. 
  • Experience in front-to-back program/project management, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Change Management leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Technical and operational knowledge and integration experience with other SAP functional areas - SD, MM, PP, and WM. 
  • Deep experience and expertise translating business requirements and processes into low friction automation and high impact systems.
  • Willingness to travel, as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to explain complex systems and technical topics in a clear, concise manner to others who may have minimal technical knowledge
  • Demonstrable success implementing and supporting large scale enterprise applications (ERP and Billing Solutions).
