SAP S/4HANA Data Migration Lead

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Regular On-site presence required)

Engagement Type: Freelance / Contract
 

Project Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Data Migration Lead to drive the end-to-end data workstream for a critical S/4HANA Brownfield conversion. This is an 18-month engagement for a large-scale project where you will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and validation of data moving from an existing SAP ECC 6.0 environment to S/4HANA.

The ideal candidate must be based in or near Dublin to facilitate regular on-site collaboration with stakeholders and the technical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Leadership: Define and own the end-to-end Data Migration strategy, including the migration "Runbook," mock conversions, and final cutover planning.
  • Brownfield Execution: Lead the technical conversion aspects, specifically focusing on CVI (Customer Vendor Integration) and Business Partner (BP) synchronization.
  • Data Orchestration: Manage data cleansing, mapping, and transformation logic to ensure a seamless transition of historical data.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact between functional leads, business owners, and technical basis teams.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee data reconciliation and validation processes to ensure 100% data integrity post-conversion.
  • Tool Management: Utilize and manage migration tools such as SAP ADM (Syniti), SAP BODS, or DMO (via SUM).

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of SAP experience, with a heavy focus on Data Migration and ETL processes.
  • Proven track record of leading at least one Full-Cycle S/4HANA Brownfield (System Conversion) project.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Customer Vendor Integration (CVI) and the S/4HANA Simplification List.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP DMO (Database Migration Option) and SUM (Software Update Manager).
  • Ability to manage complex data mapping across Finance (FI), Supply Chain (MM/SD), and Master Data.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical data complexities to senior business leadership.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Dublin-based enterprise environments or multinational hubs.
  • Certification in SAP S/4HANA or SAP Activate Methodology.
  • Background in large-scale technical cutovers for 24/7 global operations.
