Job Title: Enterprise Application Architect
Location: Brussels (Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
Languages: Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French proficiency preferred
Education and Training: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Experience: Minimum 8 years of IT experience in a closely related domain (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Application Architect). Senior-level position.
Skills and Certifications:
- Knowledge of compliance and Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF® and COBIT®).
- Profound knowledge and experience in ArchiMate®, certification considered a plus (focus on Application and Technology layer).
- Experience with ADOIT Enterprise Architecture Suite is a plus.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of Cloud-Native Application Architecture, Data-, Event-driven & streaming architectures, Microservices, Low-Code/No-Code platforms, AI/ML, Edge Computing, etc.
- Familiarity with agile frameworks and techniques (e.g., SAFe®).
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Integration/API experience is a high priority.
Job Description:
As an Enterprise Application Architect, you will play a vital role in the strategic development, deployment, integration, and modernization of SNCB's business applications. Your role is pivotal in ensuring a fit-for-purpose application portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing the application portfolio vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
- Influencing modeling, design, and coding activities, promoting code reuse and existing patterns.
- Active involvement in API development and management.
- Collaborating with Solution and Technical Architects to assess the application portfolio, drive rationalization, and focus on modernization.
- Participation in large transformation programs (e.g., Enterprise Data, ERP).
- Working with various stakeholders, including Senior Management and SMEs, to align individual project strategies and solutions with the overall enterprise strategy.
- Aligning closely with CISO teams to safeguard the application landscape.
- Joining a team of Enterprise Architects, each with a specialized role (Business, Application, Data & Technology, including Security), and acting as a trusted internal advisor to our Management.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a seasoned Enterprise Application Architect with a minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience. You should have a strong background in Enterprise Architecture, Application Architecture, and be well-versed in compliance and Enterprise Architecture frameworks. Proficiency in ArchiMate® and experience with ADOIT Enterprise Architecture Suite are advantageous.
Your expertise should cover a broad spectrum of modern architectural concepts, such as Cloud-Native Application Architecture, Data-, Event-driven & streaming architectures, Microservices, Low-Code/No-Code platforms, AI/ML, and Edge Computing. Familiarity with agile frameworks, along with excellent communication and presentation skills, is essential.
Fluency in English is a must, and proficiency in Dutch and/or French is preferred.
