Job description

Our client is on the hunt for a Director of Digital Marketing who thrives on data-driven decision-making to helm their acquisition marketing division. This pivotal role involves directly reporting to the CGO, with a primary focus on bolstering growth and customer acquisition through various paid channels.

The ideal candidate will embody a growth-centric mindset, coupled with exceptional analytical and financial prowess. They should be adept at crafting and implementing effective marketing strategies and possess a deep understanding of how to utilize technology and digital marketing channels to efficiently attract new customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearheading the development and execution of our client's acquisition growth strategy, ensuring the achievement of scalable and consistent results. This includes clearly communicating the strategy and objectives across all key functions and to the executive team.
  • Setting team and individual KPIs, maintaining a clear understanding of goals throughout the department.
  • Managing the creation and execution of a top-tier new customer marketing operational plan. This encompasses areas like subscription growth, discount management, expenditure, and projections of incremental revenue.
  • Innovating customer segmentation strategies to foster more tailored and impactful marketing initiatives, enhancing personalization in offers, messages, and overall customer experience.
  • Expanding new customer acquisition channels, focusing on paid digital avenues such as Facebook/Instagram, PPC, Affiliate Marketing, Pinterest, TikTok, and Display Advertising.
  • Leading and collaborating with both internal teams and external agencies (including Media, Creative, and Marketing Operations) in developing comprehensive marketing communications for new customers, from insights gathering and brief development to production and deployment.
  • Implementing and refining A/B testing strategies across advertising platforms within the consumer funnel, emphasizing continual enhancement.
  • Working in close partnership with Data and Analytics teams to create performance measurement reports and media mix models, thereby showcasing the impact of top-funnel activities.
  • Identifying and leveraging opportunities for website optimization within the customer journey, advocating for product modifications to support growth channels.
  • Building and maintaining a highly skilled Growth Marketing team, dedicated to understanding and engaging customers through outstanding marketing experiences.
  • Extensive Experience: Over 7 years in digital marketing, offline marketing, growth, and revenue, specifically in direct-to-consumer sectors.
  • DTC Campaign Expertise: Skilled in developing and optimizing large-scale DTC campaigns, with deep knowledge of digital channels. Experience in scaling marketing channels from under $100K to more than $2M per month.
  • Leadership Skills: Minimum of 3 years in team leadership, with a proven record in effective hiring and team development.
  • Budget Management: Demonstrated experience in managing 8-figure annual media and acquisition budgets, including forecasting and allocations.
  • Conversion Rate Optimization: Proven success in enhancing conversion rates, conducting split testing, and improving mid-funnel conversion rates.
  • Web Analytics Proficiency: Experience with tools like Google Analytics, Segment, Google Tag Manager, and others, applying them effectively in marketing strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortable with high-level communication, able to engage and motivate from the CEO and board members to individual contributors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with teams across different functions, including retention, brand, data science, creative, and product.
  • Analytical Orientation: A balance of creative and analytical thinking, with a preference for analytical approaches.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
